Sugar Sand Park — Mosaic Mural

On December 6th 2024, Connecticut based artist James Prosek unveiled his mosaic mural in Boca Raton during a ceremony attended by City and District officials. The 36 foot long mosaic, composed of over 227,000 individual glass tiles, pays tribute to Florida’s natural ecosystem with depictions of turtles, dolphins, birds, plants, and more. This piece, the first project of the City’s “Public Art Boca” initiative, on view in Sugar Sand Park, showcases the power of art to celebrate and preserve nature.

The mural, funded through a donation by the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District, reflects a commitment to sustainability, education, and community engagement, enriching the park with a vibrant, meaningful work of art.
