CC XX: Collectors Circle 20th Anniversary, 1998-2018

2018 Marks the 20th Anniversary of the Collectors Circle

The Circle has helped acquire 95 works of art for the Permanent Collection to date, ranging from Albrecht Durer’s Saint Gerome Penitent in the Landscape to William Morris’s Animal Pins.  Highlights from each year are presented here, while additional Collectors Circle purchases can be found throughout the galleries, marked with the special CC XX logo.

The works purchased by the Collectors Circle represent the broader collecting goals of the Museum.  Included are paintings, sculptures, and prints ranging from historic masterworks to the best in contemporary art.  All acquisitions further the Museum’s mission to explore humanity’s relationship with nature through art.

The 20th Anniversary of Collectors Circle is an occasion to celebrate the accomplishments of the past and build enthusiasm for the future. This exhibit highlights works from the Museum’s collection that were purchased by Collectors Circle over the last two decades. Collectors Circle is a membership level of the Museum, which annually supports art acquisitions for the Permanent Collection. In the last 20 years, this membership level has been responsible for bringing 95 works to the Museum from great classic wildlife art masters, like John James Audubon, to newer emerging wildlife artists, such as Emily Lamb.
